It seems like just yesterday when I watched Seneca and his sister Trina walk from their back door to this “new beacon of hope,” the Boys & Girls Clubs of Jackson County’s Sum- mer Camp in Charles Warner Housing Project. He was shy, soft spoken and eager to get along with everyone. Seneca came from a humble beginning and overcame many challenges and obstacles to become the man he is today. He is a dedicated and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. His love and respect for life can be seen through his work and his ability to reach his full potential as a productive, caring, responsible citizen.

The Boys & Girls Club made such a positive impact on Seneca’s life that his mother had to visit the Club to see who these people were that her son talked about all the time. The club consisted of an army of dedicated and caring staff, a safe environment, high-quality programs and unique experiences. The Club was a second home for Seneca in which his dreams and aspirations were “fed”. Seneca Wilson’s journey began in June 1992, when his light was turned on at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Jackson County.
